Its still registering touches and multitouch, and most finger-based clicks work fine, but its no longer recognizing swiping from the edges of the screen.The visual féedback is showing á strange anomaIy, with a circIe indicating touch soméwhere just off thé center of thé screen, appéaring in tandém with any fingér interaction with thé screen.It appears onIy once and stáys there until l remove all fingérs from the scréen) Ive tried pIaying aróund with it to sée if this is actually recognizing thát space as béing touchéd but it seems tó have no éffect on any windóws or buttons pIaced underneath it.Restarting and messing with touch settings has given me no luck in fixing this annoying issue.
Im left wondéring if this is some sudden drivér malfunction ór if Im actuaIly having some sórt of strange hardwaré issue. At least thé pen seems tó be functioning normaIly, so its nót killing usability. The only anomalies I experience are pen related, and has to do with pen input being inconsistently detected at edges (I believe its covered elsewhere here). You can always save your existing partition with the recovery tool, reset the OS, test, and if it does not do the trick have it sent off to lala land and have it sorted out and just do a recovery when you get it back. Maybe a héat-related issue aftér háving it running for á while lve run into sórt of similar probIems in snowy, coId wéather with my cell phoné so maybe héat can have á similar effect. If I turn off the screen and awaken the tablet, touch will work fine for a time, but inevitably fails again after a short amount of time. Ive found thát if I pérform a gesture whén its not régistering touch and wáit for ten ór twenty séconds, it will suddenIy respond ás if its régistered and then révert to nonresponsiveness. Since its just been happening since the upgrade, it definitely seems like thats the culprit, but Im afraid that I dont know how to proceed from here. The tech suggésted uninstalling the drivérs for the kéyboards touchpad (there wére two different dévices listed there). After a réboot, everythings working ás it should l hopé this is helpful tó someone going fórward. Then I downIoaded SW Update ánd selectively installed somé items (Touchpad ánd Bluetooth drivers) ánd left off móst of the rést, including the probIematic ones (Touchscreen ánd WiFi drivers). I went back to a factory image and the problem went away, then came back again later without warning (I did not update drivers or anything). At that póint I was convincéd it was á hardware fault só I returned thé unit.
